I have been feeling kind of blah for some time now. I thought it was due to a lack of sleep, but sadly it wasn’t. I had to take some time to think about it and then it hit me. I have been too relaxed with my diet. I decided to do a cleanse but this time I am going to do it my way. I bought a load of fruits and veggies…more than my usual amount. I got my glad zip lock bags and portioned out what I would need for each day and then placed them in the freezer.
Fast forward to this morning, I asked my almost three-year old about what she wanted to snack on since I stayed home from work. My little Diva said that she wanted popcorn and so I suggested we add a smoothie and “Curious George” movie to make it a complete a mommy/diva date. She agreed and so I made enough smoothie and popcorn for two… did she drink her smoothie? As of right now, it is still in her sippy cup while the popcorn is long gone. I am very tempted to grab her smoothie and drink it but I won’t because I know she needs the fruits and veggies as well. Well, I better get back to the diva before she decides to dump her smoothie on the floor. Wishing you all a blessed day and thanks again for stopping by. Below you will find the recipe to the smoothie I made, let me know if you like it in the comment section.
Berry Banana Smoothie
1/2 apple
1/4 cup spinach
1/8 cup blackberries
1/2 sliced strawberries
2 bananas
1 cup milk (I usually use unsweetened almond milk but I had to use regular milk today).
It is better to freeze all your fruits and veggies for at least 24 hours. This recipe made at least 2 servings but I didn’t measure so it could have been more than that. You can substitute the spinach for kale if you are not a fan of spinach.
